Reporting Point: The reporting point is the New Jalpaiguri/ NJP Railway Station. (Reach here before 9 am.). You will be picked up from here, and drop you at Rimbick Base camp by evening. Participants will take care of their food during their car journey.

How to reach:

By Road: New Jalpaiguri and Siliguri are twin towns. They are well connected by road; Buses are available from Kolkata, Guwahati, Patna, and many more places in India.

By Rail: New Jalpaiguri/ NJP is well connected by train; Trains are available from New Delhi, Kolkata, Patna, Guwahati, and many more places in India.

By Air: The nearest airport for New Jalpaiguri is Bagdogra airport, 14 km away, time needed is 35 minutes approx.

Base Camp: The Base camp of the program will be at Rimbick, which is approx. 127 km from the New Jalpaiguri Railway station. The Rimbick village is at an altitude of 7500 feet it is a gateway of several Himalayan mountain Trekking expeditions, and Hiking trails. Here are some good quality hotels, Lodge,

Homestays surrounded by mesmerizing landscapes, and the hospitable attitude of local villagers will give a warm welcome to the arriving trekkers. All networks have good connectivity at Rimbick.

About Food Quality:We will provide nutritious and good quality continental food, mainly Indian, and some local dishes also will be there. Food includes Morning Tea, Breakfast and Tea, Hot/ Packed lunch, Evening tea & Snacks, Soup, Dinner, and Warm drinks.

DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY WISE SCHEDULE: (Day-wise schedule will be with concerned photographs.)

Day 1: Report at New Jalpaiguri/ NJP railway station before 9 am. We will pick you from NJP and drop you at Base camp Rimbick by afternoon. (Transport is excluded in fees). Night’s stay at RimbickBase camp.

(Drive distance 127 kms, time needed 6 hours approx.).

(Participants will take care of their food, during their car Journey).

Day 2: Acclimatization Day: Morning exercise, Acclimatization walk, after having breakfast start an acclimatization walk at Samten Monastery. Orientation, Kit inspection, Luggage deposit. Night’s stay at RimbickBase camp.

Day 3: After having breakfast, move from Rimbick to Sri Khola wooden bridge by car, then start your trek to Samanden’s first higher camp. Via Rammam hot lunch point. Night’s stay at Samanden camp.

(6 kms by car, time needed 20 minutes. 11 kms by trek, time needed 5 hours approx.).

Day 4: After having breakfast, at Samanden camp, start your trek up to Phalut’s second higher camp. Night’s stay at Phalut camp.

(15 kms trek, time needed 7 hours approx.).

Day 5: Early morning visit Phalut top and enjoy a mesmerizing sunrise with Golden snowcapped, color-changing mountains. After having breakfast, at Phalut camp, start your trek up to Thakum Third higher camp. Night’s stay at Thakum camp.

(10 kms trek, time needed 4 hours approx.).

Day 6: After having breakfast, at Thakum camp, start your trek up to Aahl (Sandakphu) Fourth higher camp.At the time of sunset, one can enjoy a lifetime memorable sunset over the clouds, with Golden snowcapped, color-changing mountains. Night’s stay at Aahl camp.

(9 kms trek, time needed 4 hours approx.).

Day 7: Early morning visit Aahl top, and again enjoy the mesmerizing sunrise with Golden snowcapped, color-changing mountains. After having breakfast, from Aahl camp, start your trek downwards to Gurdum Fifth higher camp. Night’s stay at Gurdum camp.

(13 kms trek, time needed 5 hours approx.).

Day 8: After having breakfast, from Gurdum camp, start your trek downwards to Base Camp Rimbick, via the Black Forest trail.

Group breaks after having a hot lunch, with a warm hug from the Team “The Himalayan Explorer”. We will pick you up from Base camp Rimbick and drop you off at Darjeeling/ Siliguri/ New Jalpaiguri railway station, as per your wish, by Car this evening at 9 pm approx. (Transport is excluded in fees).

Pre-Registration Requirements:

Before booking, carefully read all program instructions, including cancellation policies.

At reporting time, please provide:

  1. Original Adventure-Sports Medical Certificate (valid for 10 days only) duly signed by a registered doctor (MBBS/MD) along with registration number and seal.
  2. Copy of program joining letter.
  3. Three photographs.
  4. Two ID card photocopies (with original Aadhar or Election ID or Driving License or Passport).

Safety and Security:

We prioritize your safety, meticulously planning the trekking route and personally verifying all details. While every precaution is taken, “THE HIMALAYAN EXPLORER” disclaims liability for accidents, illnesses, or unforeseen events.

Additional Activities and Responsibilities:

Participants may engage in extra activities at their own expense and responsibility, but only after completing the program and checking out. Deviating from the set route is strictly prohibited.

Insurance Coverage:

Our group insurance covers accidental death, permanent disability, and medical expenses. We recommend obtaining separate insurance for your journey and related matters.

Participant Guidelines:

Please note the following:

  1. Smoking, alcohol, or narcotics are not allowed during the program.
  2. Stay exclusively at “THE” designated camps.
  3. Maintain environmental integrity: refrain from littering and collect any trash found along the trail.
  4. Importing non-biodegradable materials into the Himalayas is prohibited.
  5. Certain medical conditions (heart problems, high blood pressure, asthma, epilepsy) are incompatible with this program.

Completion Certificate:

Successful participants who adhere to program discipline will receive a “THE HIMALAYAN EXPLORER” completion certificate.

Risk Factors:

This low-risk adventure program includes:

  1. High altitude sickness.
  2. Normal body pain.

Court: All disputes will be solved by the Kolkata High Court only.

CANCELATION

Cancellation Policy:

To cancel a booking, please email us at info@thehimalayanexplorer.com. Any Phone calls, messages, and WhatsApp notifications are invalid.

Refund Terms:

  1. Cancellation 50+ days prior to the first group reporting date: 80% refund (20% cancellation fee).
  2. Cancellation 30-49 days prior: 50% refund.
  3. Cancellation within 30 days: No refund.

Non-Refundable Fees:

  1. G.S.T.
  2. Insurance premium.

Exclusions:

The following are not eligible for refunds:

  1. Transport issues (flight, train, bus, local jeeps).
  2. Political issues.
  3. Natural calamities.
  4. Personal/family/office/leave issues.

Program Transfer:

If a participant cannot join a program, they can hold their booking amount for 365 days and apply it to another program. Any balance due will be paid/refunded.

If Program Cancellation by “THE HIMALAYAN EXPLORER”:

In rare cases of:

  1. Force majeure.
  2. Natural calamities.
  3. Safety concerns.

We may cancel a program, and participants will receive a 100% refund (excluding GST and insurance).

No Refund Policy:

No refunds will be issued for:

  1. Participants were sent down from the trek due to health/fitness issues or rule-breaking.
  2. Voluntary withdrawal from the trek.

Liability Limitation:

In case of program cancellation due to natural calamity, government restriction, or other reasons, “THE HIMALAYAN EXPLORER’s” liability is limited to program fees only.
